BeanGood! The Coffee Pub

BeanGood! The Coffee Pub

[Update: BeanGood! closed operations] If you find me at BeanGood! it is for the convenience factor. I think the BeanGood name resembles more the term I've been good, like maybe I've been good in the past. Actually BeanGood! past was more green than good, until 2011 this coffee shop was a Greenberry's (then again, who likes green berries?). The story behind this coffee shop can further be understood by checking this ArlNow article, it is always fun reading the comment section. If you prefer no to read the article, in June of 2011 the shop was sold and the new owner decided not to stay attached to the franchise. Franchise agreements apparently dictate many things, including what products you can serve and not serve. To broaden the options, the owner decided to build a more unique brand. About 3 years ago, the shop was then sold again. Quality wise, much has not changed, except that alcoholic beverages are not longer offered.

The quality of the coffee in the past 7 years has been... meh. It ranges from "starbucks ok" to "what the heck is this?". I often wonder how can quality be so inconsistent, even the Trader Joe's Keurig Coffee is more consistent (say what...). If I were to rate the coffee, it would be a zero stars. I just can't get over the fact that even Wholefoods brewed coffee is better. When a supermarket can offer better quality than a "specialized" shop, something is not right. Now to the pluses, the space is great, great wifi, and a good assortment of pastries. Their blueberry muffins used to be the bomb when I use to consume more sugar.  I had one and I still think they are still pretty good. Maybe they should consider re-branding the shop to MuffinGood or BerryGood. Bottom line, just come here if you want a good space to study or if it happens to be convenient to where you live.
