Manhattan and Jersey City - A sprint edition (Post 2 of 2)

Manhattan and Jersey City - A sprint edition (Post 2 of 2)

After a brief hiatus, I will continue with post 2 of 2 of the sprint edition and play catch up with my posts On my brief NYC trip I tried my favorite coffee shops on the second day of my stay. These shops were:  LACKAWANNA COFFEE, Cafe Grumpy, and TOMS New York.

LACKAWANNA

Located in Jersey City, LACKAWANNA is a short PATH ride from Manhattan. Out of all the shops I tried during my work travel, this was by far my favorite one. This little shop serves great coffee, has great interiors, and a nice back patio. My drink of choice, the pour over coffee, was well executed.

Cafe Grumpy

Cafe Grumpy in the Chelsea neighborhood was a great spot to grab a drink with a friend. Popular for their laptops ban, this coffee shop definitely encourages people to meet up and talk. My single cup coffee was not stellar, but would defienetely give this place another try.

Gregorys Coffee

(Updated 5.20.18) When stopping in NYC, Gregorys Coffee felt like ta nicer version of Starbucks. Mostly concentrated in the Greater New York area, Gregorys has recently expanded to the Washington DC area. With two locations in downtown, Gregorys will face steep competition from a local and better established brand, Compass Coffee. Overall, I don't feel Gregorys is gaining traction in the DC coffee scene. When trying them out in NYC, I did not ended up looking at coffee differently, as their logo may suggest with the eyeglasses. Something that is a substantial improvement over other coffee shops, its their pastries. If you love donuts, you may end up being really happy at Gregorys.
